My Haiku Pond
My Haiku Pond is a fast growing yet peaceful community dedicated to the appreciation and study of English language haiku, haiku related forms and -Art. At My Haiku Pond we focus mainly on contemporary haiku in the English language, but also honor the classic Masters’ works. This includes haiga, haibun, tanka, kukai, nature, zen, Japanese as well as Buddhist Arts & Culture, etc. Its main focus however, is the promotion, sharing and study of English language haiku.

Haiku Masters Japan; An Introduction to Photo Haiku
The world’s shortest form of poetry, Haiku, captures the inner most subtleties of life. Photographs immortalize that one single moment. The two meet to create a new form of visual literature called Photo Haiku. This is the introductory episode to the first season of HAIKU MASTERS, the new interactive TV program which seeks to find the next Haiku Master. Het IAFOR (International Academic Forum) organiseert een haiku competitie voor Engelstalige haiku’s. De deadline voor het inzenden van haiku’s is 1 maart 2016.

Matsuo Basho Award 2016
De Italian Haiku Association organiseert voor de vierde keer de Matsuo Basho Award. De ingeleverde haiku’s dienen vertaald te worden in het Engels en kunnen tot 30 maart 2016 ingeleverd worden. Klik op deze link voor het wedstrijdreglement: Matsuo Basho Award 2016
European Haiku Prize
De European Haiku Society heeft een competitie uitgeschreven. De ingeleverde haiku’s dienen vertaald te worden in het Engels of het Frans en kunnen tot 20 februari 2016 ingeleverd worden. De organisatie geeft ook een nieuw digitaal kwartaalblad uit met de naam ‘Makoto’. Klik hier voor meer info.
Japanse TV zender zoekt Haiku Masters
Vindt je het leuk om haiku en fotografie te combineren? De Japanse publieke omroep NHK organiseert een wedstrijd waarin deze combinatie centraal staat. Je kunt een Engelstalige haiku met foto aanleveren. Ook kan je een Engelstalige haiku schrijven bij drie foto’s.
